So, I was at the local Best Buy today and saw Weezers latest album on Sandisk's new "media" format, SlotMusic. Basically its a standard 1gig MicroSD card with the album on it as UNPROTECTED 320Kbps MP3 files.

Seriously. Pure, unprotected MP3s! In a high bit rate! And I still have 512MB of space on the card left. Oh, it also comes with a USB reader. For 14.99.

This is something I will pay money for.

Thank you RIAA for doing something not completely brain dead.

Death Sucks

Ok. That title probably sounds like a downer, and I guess it is, but I have a lot going on that I should probably just get out. Two of my fish died. My favorite fish, a honey gourami named Gourami, passed on and it really hurt. He had personality. He sat on his stump. He looked at us. He slept in his stump. He came up to us in the morning to say hi. He was an awesome fish and I will miss him.

I have a midterm exam in about 30 minutes. Sex People and Culture. My last semester at UCF as an undergraduate. I'm taking two humanities courses as electives, cause thats all that left to push me over 120 credits. Everything else is complete. It feels good, but scary at the same time.

Ok. Wish me luck. Time to ace this exam.

Moving In!

Ok. I am mostly moved into my new townhouse. I have fish, my PC, my monitors, my TV, good roommates, awesome girlfriend, nice neighborhood, and I am feeling pretty darn good. I'll update this blog later on with some more information, and oh yeah, pictures.

My 5 day review of Guitar Hero: On Tour for the Nintendo DS

Lo all.

This is my new segment, video game reviews (because we so need another video game review site)! Anyways, I rented Guitar Hero for the DS from my local Block Buster and I think I can sum up the game in two words:

IT SUCKED.

To elaborate, there was nothing wrong about the game in each individual little section, the graphics were nice, the music was good, the idea was neat, but the game was just not fun to play. Nothing to unlock but clothing and new guitars. The 25 songs you start with are the only songs you get in the game.

At about song 15, I got very bored. The controller grip kept coming loose, It was hard to get comfortable holding the grip, the special guitar pick stylus was crappy, it just wasn't fun. I eventually found that using my finger on the screen was the most comfortable way to strum.

I have to say the game is a good try, and they really did push the DS for this type of game. They just took the fun out of guitar hero by putting it into a platform where it didn't fit. The way the Nintendo DS looks after the guitar grip is on, it looks more like you're playing Accordion Hero.

In conclusion:

Programmers perspective: very well done, great effort to bring the game to a limited platform.

From a gamers perspective: not fun at all. sorry :(

Nothing from Little Debbie is a good breakfast.

Yeah, it's been a while since I've posted anything, but thats changing! I'm posting something right now. Anyways, Kristene (my girlfriend of 9 months) just woke up, looked around groggily, and grabbed the little Debbie oatmeal cakes off my dresser and started noming them. Thus I came to the realization after a quick two sentence conversation of "No little debbies for breakfast! BUT ITS OATMEAL" that nothing from Little Debbie constitutes anything near a good breakfast.

Tasty though.

Black Friday 2007

Ok. I just spent 28 hours in front of Best Buy (Wednesday 11pm till Friday 5am) for Black Friday. I was 11th in line along with my Mom, Aimee, and Chris. It was a blast. We had a woman try and move to the front of the line and was soon kicked out by the police. We had people getting trampled and pushing and shoving and fights. We had $200 laptops people were fighting for.

IT WAS INSANE.

I got everything I wanted and I am still exhausted a day after the fact.

I love my Grandma!

I love my grandma.

She bought me a pre graduation gift: a 2004 PT Cruiser. It is the most sexy car I have ever owned. I am in love with it. :) I will be returning to Orlando tomorrow to get some work done. It's been a pretty uneventful week, and thats the way I like it.

I'm Home!

The internship is over. Happy Sine Die Everyone! I am back home in Orlando, got some errands to run this week, and then I will be back down in South Florida for a couple of days.

I will be in Starke Florida from the 25-26 for a 26 hour scenario paintball game.

I can't wait.

And the car is dead....

My car is dead. engine is blown. I am trapped in Tallahassee. 4 more days till the internship is over. It's all good though. It will all be good.

Couple Updates

A couple updates for everyone taking notes:

1)I am back in Orlando right now for the weekend. I'm moving some of my stuff back into my apartment here, which is nice. Means less hauling later. I'm kinda bored seeing as its finals week and everybody's cramming and studying or somewhere else, but I am going to relax and enjoy this weekend. I need some Huey Magoo's chicken tenders. I'm having withdrawal.

2)On Thursday, I presented a bill. A bill to the Senate Committee on Higher Education. I never felt my heart race as fast as it did when I got up and stood up in front of the Senators and presented. But I did it. The bill died, but I did it. it was an experience I will NEVER forget.

3)I had a phone interview for a job with UCF's SGA as their Webmaster. I have never done a phone interview, so, I don't know how it went. I hope it went well.

So, thats been my week.

I'm going to bed.

Penguins were at the capital today.

Cute little warm blooded penguins were being carted around the Senate Office Building today and were also on the senate floor.

Grindhouse = Awesome

Grindhouse is an amazing 3.5 hours of time spent.

The movie starts off with Rodriquez's movie: Planet Terror. A campy zombie-esque movie complete with simulated missing reels, bad audio, color fades, and frame artifacts.

The Tarantino flick that comes after Planet Terror is called Death Proof. Its 45 minutes of buildup, then 45 minutes of pure adrenaline. I love Zoe btw.

The included fake trailers are icing on the cake, and the fake trailer Machete is actually being made into a full length direct to DVD movie.

I give it out 94,354 out of 94,600.

April 1st Paintball Pictures

So far, I am having a blast!

It's been a couple of days since i have been home relaxing. I needed this. Sunday i went and played paintball with a very cool bunch of people. My team, the "Hell's Mayors", was there as usual, and we had a group of about 10 from citrix show up.

My ION shot amazingly well. I marked people left and right. It was great. I did get bunkered by a couple of newbies who didnt know to stop shooting after I got hit, but I startled tem so its no surprise they kept firing. All in all, a very good day.

I have been hanging out at FAU a lot these past few days. It's nice to be back at what will be my first alma mater. I love UCF. But right now, i have so many memories with FAU, Ive missed it. I have been hanging out with so many of my old friends, and colleagues, I haven't been this happy in a long while.

Alex and Josh's apartment kicks ass btw. I have been going there every night. I have finally gotten to see HDTV in its (semi-)full glory. 1080i American Chopper is Amazing!

The apartment is very nice. Its going to suit them very well, and I'm glad it feels like home to both them and to me.
